My new toy!

I got this from Ball & Skein to wind my skeins more quickly, and what a difference!



I skeined 10 skeins of Pearly Twist in the time I used to only get about 3 done! I think I'll get even faster as I get used to this new toy. Thanks a ton to the Yarnies on Ravelry for talking about skeinwinders and rating their own.

Yes, that means more yarn is coming to Nine Rubies soon!

A beautiful Tuscany Shawl

At San Mateo Knitters, I got to see some progress on Christina's Tuscany Shawl...



Pretty nifty, eh? This is knit with Luxury DK in Blackberry Jam. I don't know if there is more in stock, but you can let the nice folks at Nine Rubies know if you want some! They can hold it for you when I make the next delivery...

Summer Sunset has been delivered!

A big batch of Luxury Sock & Shawl in Summer Sunset has been delivered to Nine Rubies. And, as a bonus, I also made six skeins of this:
That's Summer Sunset in Superwash Sock yarn. The colors are much more vibrant than in the merino-silk blend - I love how it turned out!

While I was dyeing, I also made some Cashmere:

This new colorway, Autumn Maple, is inspired by the fall leaves in New England. We don't have such colors on our trees in California, but you can enjoy the colors in your yarn!

Original Sock Yarn at Nine Rubies!

I delivered some Jewel Box and Sierra Forest original sock yarn to Nine Rubies on Friday - it's probably tagged and ready for sale by now! Also... some Sierra Forest DK silk, and This Side of Red worsted silk.

Enjoy! I received 25 pounds of Louet Gems last week and will dye next weekend!

Yarn delivered to ABCs!

Baywood Yarns is proud to offer our yarn through ABCs of Creative Pursuits, a lovely yarn shop in Bakersfield, California. The delivery went there last week, and they may have it on the shelves now. If you want to mail order through them, you may give them a call!

Why this shop? I grew up in Bakersfield, and my mom is a regular customer here. Karen, the owner, is wonderful to work with and dedicated to the craft. Bakersfield is lucky to have a great shop in town.
